Bust out the tissue boxes…..another summer is in the books and the kids are back to school!  Over the years we have always run into our elders who say “enjoy your time with your kids because they will be grown before you know it!”  Well folks it is true.  Time flies when your having fun and today our crew started 1st, 4th and 6th grade.  My goal this year once the kids were back in school was to be committed finally blogging again.  I used to blog my work stuff all the time and had gotten away from it but I wanted to start writing again and not just blog about work; rather blog about life and work.  So if you follow along you will see post about my family, photography, interior design and fashion interests.  Since the kids started school today I thought about how I could tie this into a work post as well and I came up with an idea for my first post so here goes:  When I am designing a space for a client one thing I always try to fit into a space is a dining nook.  Why?  Well, for my family personally, the dining nook is where we spend a lot of time as a family having memorable conversations and enjoying good food together.  We moved into our house 7 years ago and the space where our dining nook now resides was empty.  It is located right off the kitchen so immediately I knew I wanted a dining nook.  Being a photographer as well I wanted to make sure I had a fun gallery wall to go above our space and that gallery wall in particular is of our family travels and activities that our kids participate in which is always fun to look at when sitting in this space.  This space is so important to us; in fact last night this is where we had our big family dinner and made memories talking about what our favorite parts of summer were and what the kids are looking forward to this new school year:)

This table is one of my favorite tables to install in homes due to the clean lines and light wood.  It is the Russian Oak Plank Table from Restoration Hardware.  The cushions and pillows were custom made with Studio Sutherland.  The picture frames are the Room Essentials Brand at Target (Love!) and the chairs too are from Restoration Hardware.
